Lighting Up the Night Sky This Christmas

Tis the season to be jolly!

This December residents showed their festive spirit by participating in the Christmas Lights Competition. Across 53 communities, residents lit up the night sky with magical light displays across their homes and within their community.

The team at Hometown Australia were dazzled by the many nominations with a difficult decision a head of them. After much consideration, Hometown Australia are pleased to announce the winners. At approximately 9:15pm every night the Bartsch’s home becomes a magical display of dancing lights!

This year, John and Lorna swapped their normal Christmas lights for a solar panel display, installing the lights themselves to ensure the perfect showcase of festive colours. The Bartsch’s home is not only adorned with many hanging lights but it also features additional garden lights making for an impactful Christmas display that can be seen from the end of the street! Congratulations John and Lorna Bartsch.

On Wednesday, 1 December the community launched the ‘Festival of Lights’ with Christmas carols in the community centre and later flowing onto the streets of the community.

Residents were treated to the ultimate Christmas experience with eight different displays set throughout the community including a Nativity scene, reindeer lights show and even an enchanted forest. In addition to the displays residents could enjoy in the immersive experience by scanning a code to listen to the complimentary Christmas carols helping residents jingle their way through the displays.

“The residents involved did a wonderful job at creating the displays throughout the community and spreading the Christmas cheer. We are all very impressed with their innovation and creativity!” said Adam George, Community Manager at Valhalla Lifestyle Community.
