Congratulations to our Winners of ‘Making Spirits Bright’ Competition!

Congratulations to our winners of ‘Making Spirits Bright’ Christmas lights competition!

Thank you to all our Hometown Australia homeowners who joined in the ‘Making Spirits Bright’ Christmas lights competition this holiday season – you all brought so much holiday cheer to our incredible communities.

We asked you to show off your festive creativity with your sensational home and/or garden displays and WOW us with all the holiday magic you could muster, and we were blown away by the entries.

The following are the list of nominated favourites who took out the national prizes for each category:

Prize 1: Best Home Display – National Winner $250 – House 109 – Nepean Shores

Voted the winner through people’s choice nominations, these are just some of the heartfelt comments received:

“Oh, what joy… it brought me happiness and a sense of gratitude that the homeowners created this display for everybody to enjoy, especially those unable to make their own display”.

“The homeowners were delightful and came out to greet us, and this really completed the experience for us”.

Prize 2: Best Community Display – National Winner $500

At Beachfront, the Managers, homeowners, friends, and family all came together to decorate the office in a wave of vivid blues, drawing inspiration from the dramatic views of Black Head Beach in the background.

Situated on the rolling hills at Halliday’s Point, a group of homeowners returned from dinner one night said, “this is visible from afar like a lighthouse shining for those in darkness” and “this shows our community is inviting”.

The prize of $500 is going towards a community special event for everybody to enjoy.

Prize 3: The Elf Did It (good deed) – National Winner – Vinnie Walker at Homestead

Voted the winner through people’s choice nominations, one nomination says “Vinnie looks more like Santa than the elf, however he is easily recognised in the village by his willingness to help anyone if he can. He brightens our spirits every day but absolutely shines on Sundays by running a singing group. Always without fuss, everybody is welcome (talent is optional) and it’s lots of fun.”

Vinnie is rewarded with a stay at Gateway Lifestyle Holiday Parks for his amazing service to fellow homeowners at Homestead.

Best Home Display Runner-up’s

House 35 – The Dunes

House 137 – Ulladulla

House 130 – Seawinds

House 12 – Jacaranda Grove

House 17 – Sanctuary

We want to congratulate everyone who took the time to brighten up our communities with their displays. Well done everyone and thank you for helping our community to smile after what has been a particularly difficult year.

Finally, don’t worry if you didn’t take part this time around – we’ve got more competitions on the way, so keep checking in on the Hometown Australia website or Facebook pages for details.

Happy New Year!
