Hometown Christmas Lights Competition Winners

In December 2022, Hometown communities across Australia lit up the night sky with colourful and imaginative Christmas light displays to celebrate the festive season.

Communities were abuzz as homeowners and Community Managers planned their spectacular lights and decorations. By Christmas, the streets around the communities were ablaze with so many fantastic displays. Once the award winning displays were sent in from all the participating communities the hard task of determining overall winners began.

At Sunrise, the community buggy was transformed into Santa’s sleigh, complete with roo reindeers. The community streets had beautiful light displays and a giant inflatable festive dragon was very eye-catching.

The Nepean Shores and Red Gum communities went all out with enthusiastic participation from their homeowners. Bridge Street Resort even had some junior judges on board to help find their community winner.

Kerian and Gillian from Cobb Haven won the national resident winner category for their musical display with angels, santa on a motorbike, shimmering lights, candy canes and a giant lit up santa with sleigh and reindeers sitting atop their fence.

Valhalla were chosen as the best community Christmas lights display.

The Christmas Lights Competition will be held again this year and we’re looking forward to seeing the fantastic displays created by our communities!
